Drop in for tea, coffee and a chat. From 1pm to 3pm on Saturday 6th September and the first Saturday of every month at the same time in Cathedral buildings 64 Donegall Street Belfast. Ring the bell for the Cara friend room (or ring our new events mobile phone number on 07531636342) to get in. Everyone is very welcome. In tandem with our drop in Rory will be returning with his Unfolding Stories project. He needs at least eight of us to take part. Having been at his last session I can tell you that it is great fun. He will write up his results in book form, copies of which we get to sell. the proceeds then go to L+. Come along, you'll have a laugh!
Short film will be shown in connection with Age Awareness Week followed by a discussion dealing with the issues raised by the film clip. The film is called If These Walls Could Talk 2 and it's in 3 sections but we are just focussing on the first section which is set in 1961 and stars Vanessa Redgrave as Edith Tree whose lover and soul mate dies. The film shows how Edith is excluded from subsequent 'family' matters and how her status as 'family' is denied by the hospital and her partner's family Drop in for a chat or just take a break from shopping. Enjoy a cuppa or two. From 1pm to 3pm in Cathedral buildings 64 Donegall Street Belfast. Ring the bell for the Cara friend room to get in. Everyone is very welcome. Join us for Sunday lunch in Cathedral buildings 64 Donegall Street Belfast. Voluntary donations will go to Age Concern.
